dc.descriptionThis essay intends to study the relationship between Miguel Delibes’ novel, Los santos inocentes (1981) and its successful film adaptation by Mario Camus in 1983. We will find how the quality of this novel (the combination of straightforward realism and emotional lyrism) fits perfectly the film language, thanks especially to the work of the supporting cast, although without taking originality away from the film. The novel’s criticism about the Spanish past along with its universal meaning explain why it was adapted in the young Democracy, whose social and political purpose led to strengthen different aspects in the film as well as in the novel.en-US
dc.descriptionEn este ensayo se pretende estudiar las relaciones entre la novela de Miguel Delibes, Los santos inocentes (1981) y su exitosa adaptación cinematográfica de Mario Camus en 1983. Se verá cómo la calidad de la novela (la combinación de realismo descarnado y lirismo emotivo) se acomoda perfectamente al lenguaje fílmico, especialmente gracias a la labor actoral, aunque sin restar por ello originalidad a la película. La crítica del pasado español y su alcance universal en la novela justifican su adaptación en la joven Democracia, cuyos objetivos sociales y políticos explican también en parte el refuerzo de diferentes aspectos en la novela y en la película.   es-ES
