| Description: | The purpose of this paper is to provide a basic but thorough overview of the main references that have approached the concept virtual reality and other concepts belonging to the cybercultural studies, such as those of cyberspace, culture and communication.It also presents a roadmap for the development of cybercultural studies in Latin America, to the extent that there has been a lack of consistency in the Latin American views on the subject that have been carried out so far. El propósito de estas páginas es brindar al lector que se inicia en los estudios ciberculturales una visión básica pero rigurosa de los principales autores de referencia que tanto en el ámbito global como en el ámbito latinoamericano han abordado el concepto lo virtual y otros propios del área, como ciberespacio, cultura y comunicación.Se presenta una propuesta de hoja de ruta para el desarrollo de los estudios ciberculturales en América Latina, en la medida en que existe una ausencia de sistematicidad en las miradas latinoamericanas que sobre el objeto de estudio cibercultura se han llevado a cabo hasta el momento. |
