Los conservadores defienden el sistema actual, basado en la concepción neoliberal de Hayek y Friedman, instaurada durante la dictadura de Pinochet y perfeccionada en el período postautoritario. Los dirigentes estudiantiles y los sectores críticos luchan por una educación pública gratuita y de calidad, y por el fin del lucro en la educación privada. Esta postura articula el republicanismo de la historia nacional con el de las tradiciones europeas libertarias. This article is part of a research project on the neoliberal concept of education compared with the republican and Dewey concepts. The Chilean student movement combines mass mobilizations against the current education system with a proposal for a new project, inviting majority citizen support. The conservatives defend the current system based on the neoliberal conception of Hayek and Friedman, installed during the Pinochet dictatorship and perfected in the post-authoritarian period. Student leaders and critical sectors struggle for free public education of high quality, and for the end of profit in private education. This position articulates the republicanism of national history with libertarian European traditions. |
