En este artículo se muestra, a partir de la revisión del concepto de sistematización y sus diferencias con investigación, la importancia que puede representar, para el trabajo social, la recuperación de la experiencia práctica, pues al darle sentido a ésta, permite aprendizajes y conocimientos que sin esa reflexión e interpretación sobre el actual se perderían en el olvido.La recuperación de experiencias es un aspecto educable y enseñable, siempre que el proceso de formación motive y oriente dicho trabajo, al considerar esencial la riqueza obtenida a partir de la autorreflexión sobre la práctica universitaria y profesional.
