¿Qué lugar ocupa el “loco” en cinco instituciones psiquiátricas de Medellín?

Abstract

Esta investigación fue realizada con el objeto de saber el lugar que ocupa el “loco” en las instituciones psiquiátricas de Medellín. El término “loco” es tomado desde una mirada foucaultiana, además se busca indagar por los tratamientos y las formas de intervención. La metodología implementada para el desarrollo y construcción de los resultados es desde un análisis cualitativo transeccional con enfoque fenomenológico-hermenéutico ya que este es una herramienta que permite la interpretación del discurso. Se utilizó como instrumentos, la entrevista semiestructurada y la revisión documental de referentes teóricos en su mayoría de orientación psicoanalítica. Los hallazgos encontrados en la revisión documental dieron cuenta de que el lugar del “loco” es del lado del excluido como lo menciona Foucault en lahistoria de la locura en la época clásica. En los resultados se encontró que ese lugar no ha cambiado, sigue siendo el del excluido, donde se administra su condición y no es tratada, donde no se tiene en cuenta subjetividad. Se encontró, además, que hay una evidente prevalencia en los tratamientos psiquiátricos, donde se ubica la enfermedad mental en un órgano y se compara con enfermedades crónicas como la hipertensión o la diabetes. No solo el lugar del “loco” sigue siendo el del excluido en las instituciones, también lo es para el lugar del psicólogo ya que su conocimiento e intervención son tomadas en un segundo plano.

This investigation was carried out in order to find out the place that the "madman" occupies in the psychiatric institutions of Medellín. The term "crazy" is taken from a Foucauldian point of view, and it also seeks to investigate the treatments and forms of intervention. The methodology implemented for the development and construction of the results is from a qualitative transectional analysis with a phenomenological-hermeneutical approach and that this is a tool that allows the interpretation of discourse. The instruments used were the semi-structured interview and the documentary review of theoretical references, mostly of psychoanalytic orientation. The findings found in the documentary review showed that the place of the "madman" is on the side of the excluded as mentioned by Foucault in the history of madness in classical times. In the results, it was found that this place has not changed, it is still the excluded one, where their condition is administered and not treated, where there is no subjectivity. It was also found that there is an evident prevalence in psychiatric treatments, where mental illness is located in an organ and is compared with chronic diseases such as hypertension or diabetes. Not only is the place of the "madman" still excluded in the institutions, it is also the place of the psychologist and that his knowledge and intervention are taken into the background.
