Repertorios conductuales asociados con la expresión de intimidad en un grupo de hombres que se identifican como gays o bisexuales

Abstract

El propósito de esta investigación es promover un conocimiento que ha sido muy poco investigado en el país como lo es el tema de la intimidad en hombres que se identifican así mismos como gays o bisexuales. El objetivo de investigación fue identificar los repertorios conductuales asociados a la expresión de intimidad en dicha población. Se utilizó una metodología de tipo cuantitativa descriptiva, haciendo uso de las variables intimidad, miedo a la intimidad y apego con los padres, contando con la participación de 66 hombres adultos pertenecientes que se identifican así mismos como gays (86,4%) o bisexuales (13,6%); los instrumentos que se utilizaron fueron: una Encuesta sociodemográfica para reunir datos de interés para el investigador, el Personal Assessment of Intimacy in Relationships (PAIR), la Fear of intimacy Scale (FIS) y el Parenting Bonding Instrument (PBI). Los resultados arrojaron en cuanto a intimidad: el área emocional (381 puntos) como la más punteada versus el área social (190 puntos) como la menos punteada. En cuanto al miedo a la intimidad: los ítems más puntuados fueron ítem 31 (He escapado de oportunidades de ser cercano a alguien, 60 puntos) e ítem 32. (He contenido mis sentimientos en relaciones anteriores, 57 puntos).

The purpose of this research is to promote knowledge that has been little researched in the country, such as the issue of intimacy in men who identify themselves as gay or bisexual. The research objective was to identify the behavioral repertoires associated with the expression of intimacy in this population. A descriptive quantitative type methodology was used, making use of the variables intimacy, fear of intimacy and attachment with parents, with the participation of 66 adult male members who identify themselves as gay (86.4%) or bisexual (13.6%); The instruments used were: a Sociodemographic Survey to collect data of interest to the researcher, the Personal Assessment of Intimacy in Relationships (PAIR), the Fear of intimacy Scale (FIS) and the Parenting Bonding Instrument (PBI). The results yielded in terms of intimacy: the emotional area (381 points) as the most dotted versus the social area (190 points) as the least dotted. Regarding the fear of intimacy: the most scored items were item 31 (I have escaped opportunities to be close to someone, 60 points) and item 32. (I have contained my feelings in previous relationships, 57 points).
