| Description: | The following article embraces a series of considerations about the role of school in the changing processes of society, the subsequent policies that are devised for it, and the obstacles it encounters. Furthermore, it addresses some conditions of social inequality and injustice, citizen rights, unfavourable situations of the public schools, and the teachers’ roles concerning ethical and political commitments towards their work. En este artículo se adelanta una serie de consideraciones alrededor del papel de la escuela en los procesos de cambio de la sociedad, las políticas que se le trazan y los obstáculos que enfrenta, las condiciones de inequidad e injusticia social, los derechos ciudadanos, la situación de desventaja de la escuela pública y el papel del maestro y su compromiso ético y político frente a su quehacer. |
