dc.description	La Ética de la hospitalidad de Daniel Innerarity propone que la construcción de identidad pasa por el reconocimiento de lo extraño como parte constitutiva de lo propio. En este artículo mostramos que esta relación entre lo extraño y la identidad puede analogarse a los descubrimientos sobre inmunología que explica el biólogo y filósofo chileno Francisco Varela: el sistema inmunológico es un proceso cognitivo en el que se construye la identidad corporal a través de la distinción entre el sí mismo y lo extraño. En esa distinción, el sistema reconoce lo extraño, apropiándoselo. Las similitudes entre Innerarity y Varela permiten ver, por ejemplo, que la homofobia y el chovinismo pueden analogarse a una comprensión errada de la defensa de la identidad.	es-ES
dc.description	The ethics of hospitality according to Daniel Innerarity proposes that the construction of identity passes through recognition of the stranger as an integral part of the self. This article shows the relationship between the unknown and one’s identity is analogous to discoveries of immunology as explained by Chilean biologist and philosopher Francisco Varela. He explains that the immunological system is a cognitive process in which the corporal identity is constructed through the distinction between the self and the unknown. Within this distinction the system first recognizes and then appropriates the unknown. The similarities between Innerarity and Valera allow us to see for example that homophobia and chauvinism are analogous to an erroneous understanding of the preservation of the self.	en-US
