Browsing "Especialización en Gerencia en Riesgos Laborales, Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo" by Subject This paper began as a proposal for a degree project in the Specialization of Management in Labor Risks, Safety and Health at Work of the Minuto de Dios University, with a question related to the lack of knowledge of the mechanisms and forms of Citizen Participation in the General System of Labor Risks. Before starting the investigation, we took for certain the little and almost null Citizen Participation in this system, taking into account the lack of knowledge and disinterest that both we and some people related to this subject had on the subject. The lack of knowledge was evident when carrying out surveys to fellow students of the specialization, who had between one and eight years of experience in Safety and Health at Work, although they stated that they did not know this figure in the SGRL. For this research, as field work, we carried out consultations with people versed in Labor Risks in the country and who even work in entities that have direct competence with the subject. Such is the case of Dr. Carlos Maya, current official of the Ministry of Labor, who argued, in the interview we conducted with him, that the existence of participation does occur in the SGRL, but through different mechanisms from those established in the General System of Social Security in Health and the General Pension System. It is important to note that the participation in the SGRL is not the same as in the General System of Pensions.
