This research involved the production of an audiovisual documentary that explores and highlights
the close relationship between a horse and Mr. Abel Guevara, a plainsman who replaced the
traditional method of horse training on his farm with a technique he calls "active, safe, and reliable
interaction." This technique is derived from rational training, a method of equine training based
on communication with the animal.
The creation process of this documentary involved several stages, beginning with an in-depth
investigation into rational training, traditional horse training practices in the Llanos, and the unique
relationship between humans and animals in a specific area of Casanare.
After understanding this type of interaction, we set out to investigate and observe the practice
firsthand. We traveled from Bogotá to the eco-farm El Encierro, located between the township of
Aguaclara, Sabanalarga, and the municipality of Villanueva Casanare, where the protagonist of
this story lives. Over three days, we captured stories and behaviors that show respect for animals
and nature in general. Two cameras, a microphone, and a drone helped us capture every detail on
site.
