In the year 2022 unimaginable changes occurred in the Colombian political context, Francia Elena
Marquez Mina -a black woman, impoverished and victim of the horrors of this country- was sworn
in as vice-president, which generated a before and after regarding the representation and
hegemonic aesthetics of the presidents in the country; the construction of this text was motivated
by the political bet of the president in the presidential possession of the current government, since
it generated a rupture in the idea of the political in Colombia. Based on this premise, the present
work allowed us to investigate how the body and fashion are producers of meaning, how the vicepresident configures disruptive imaginaries in everyday life and the need to approach the body as
a space for intersectional reflection for communication studies. At the same time, this research is
a response to the ethical obligation we have as women to delve into the historical inequalities that
have distanced us from power.
