Representaciones sociales del suicidio constituidas en un grupo de adolescentes, estudiantes del grado 9 de la Institución Educativa San Pedro Claver del municipio de Apartadó, Antioquia

Abstract

Las representaciones sociales son formas de conocimiento socialmente elaboradas y compartidas, que tienen una orientación práctica y contribuyen a la construcción de la realidad social, esta definición se vincula al suicidio en adolescentes, como un evento real, que ocurre, en el cual los jóvenes, se auto infligen daños y terminan ocasionándose la muerte, por lo que se considera en la actualidad como, la segunda causa de muerte a nivel mundial de las personas. Esta investigación se hizo con el objetivo principal de, conocer las representaciones sociales que tienen del suicidio, un grupo de estudiantes del grado noveno de la Institución Educativa San Pedro Claver del Municipio de Apartado Antioquia en el año 2023, la metodología se construye, bajo un enfoque de tipo cualitativo, con alcance descriptivo, y se hizo uso de una muestra de 20 estudiantes de la IE, en donde se aplicó la técnica de la entrevista, por medio de un instrumento, estructuraron en 10 preguntas abiertas, para poder conocer dicha percepción. En los resultados establecidos en esta investigación, se pudo constatar que los adolescentes, tienen una percepción en algunos casos empática, acerca del tema del suicidio y de las personas que se suicidan, esto lo ven como un acto de pecado, sin embargo, manifiestan que esta podría ser la única salida a los problemas de estos adolescentes, aseguran que las principales razones que tiene un adolescente para tomar la decisión de suicidarse, radica en problemas de tipo familiar, acoso escolar, y que un aspecto clave se relaciona con la depresión y en últimos lugares la baja autoestima y la pérdida de un ser querido. En cuanto a la actitud que manejan respecto a este tema, tiene que ver con que manifiestan que el suicidio es la única salida de aquellas personas que tienen las dificultades anteriormente mencionadas, y que sin lugar a dudas la familia, el entorno educativo y el entorno social, son fuentes de riesgo evidentes frente al suicidio, y que esto tiene que ver con lo que los adolescentes ven como “encajar en la sociedad”, siendo esta misma sociedad la que los juzga y los presiona a tomar esta decisión. Lo que concluye sin lugar a dudas que la percepción del riesgo que tienen los adolescentes acerca del suicidio se basa en criterios de la dinámica familiar y de tipo social.

Social representations are socially elaborated and shared forms of knowledge, which have a practical orientation and contribute to the construction of social reality. This definition is linked to adolescent suicide, as a real event that occurs, in which young people, they self-inflict damage and end up causing death, which is why it is currently considered the second leading cause of death worldwide. This research was carried out with the main objective of knowing the social representations that a group of ninth grade students of the San Pedro Claver Educational Institution of the Municipality of Apartado Antioquia have of suicide in the year 2023, the methodology is built, under a qualitative approach, with a descriptive scope, and a sample of 20 IE students was used, where the interview technique was applied, through an instrument, structured into 10 open questions, in order to know said perception . In the results established in this investigation, it was possible to verify that adolescents have an empathic perception, in some cases, about the subject of suicide and people who commit suicide, they see this as an act of sin, however, they state that this could be the only solution to the problems of these adolescents, they assure that the main reasons that an adolescent has for making the decision to commit suicide, lies in family problems, bullying, and that a key aspect is related to depression and lastly, low self-esteem and the loss of a loved one. Regarding the attitude they have regarding this issue, it has to do with the fact that they state that suicide is the only way out for those people who have the previously mentioned difficulties, and that without a doubt the family, the educational environment and the environment social, are obvious sources of risk in the face of suicide, and that this has to do with what adolescents see as "fitting into society", this same society being the one that judges them and pressures them to make this decision. This concludes without a doubt that the perception of risk that adolescents have about suicide is based on criteria of family dynamics and of a social nature.
