This research takes as its starting point the analysis of community film as a cohesive of
social processes, from the postulates of popular communication, which leads to generating
spaces for educommunication, with the children of the Villa Mercedes I Sector neighborhood;
understanding the seventh art as a platform that helps to stimulate organization processes in the
community, without ignoring the difficulties that the inhabitants of this territory have to access
formal education and to organize themselves; evidencing state abandonment and the absence of
policies that recognize the participation of children in spaces within the neighborhood. This
project is carried out from the community film as a means of organization by which learning is
promoted, nurturing different areas of non-formal knowledge, achieving an environment of
cultural and territorial appropriation. Therefore, P.A.R (Participatory Action Research) is used as
a methodology that empowers children in two ways: at first, to represent the neighborhood and
its dynamics through audiovisual material, and from their own visions; for in a second moment,
critically think about the territory and continue developing communicative processes that allow
collective organization; where these expressions will be part of the free development of
community organization, making this territory a popular and reciprocal space.
