| Description: | This article’s aim is to explain the process of institutionalizing urban planning in Bogotá during the first half of the Twentieth Century. Following an analysis of municipal policy and the bureaucratic structure upon which the official planning bodies were established, it is concluded that during this period the administrative foundations were set for the creation and execution of urbanization and urban planning projects in the capital city of Colombia. Este artículo tiene como objetivo explicar el proceso de institucionalización de la planeación urbana en Bogotá, durante la primera mitad del siglo XX. Tras un análisis de la política municipal y de la estructura burocrática sobre la cual se montaron los órganos oficiales de planeación, se concluye que durante este periodo se definieron y estructuraron las bases administrativas que hicieron posible la creación y ejecución de proyectos de urbanismo y planeación urbana en la capital colombiana. |
