Abstract This article is the result of a research project analyzing the biomechanical risk factors that can significantly affect the life quality of workers, as well as absenteeism from work due to traumas and osteomuscular injuries negatively affect the productivity of the company and increases economic costs. The private company Inversiones Otelo with operation in the municipality of Anapoima (Cundinamarca) has developed the pre-occupational medical evaluation of its workers that report absence of ailments related to the biomechanical risk factor. However, the professional responsible for the SG-SST of the company, identifies biomechanical risk factors that qualitatively assess at moderate risk. Therefore, the need to adopt a strategy of occupational prevention and surveillance for musculoskeletal disorders and injuries is posed, which allows characterizing the different risk factors associated with the manual handling of burdens, with possible negative impacts on health. For the prevention of these ailments, it is proposed to design and implement an occupational surveillance system for musculoskeletal disorders and injuries. |

Este artículo es el resultado del proyecto de investigación donde se analizan los factores de riesgo biomecánico que pueden afectar considerablemente la calidad de vida de los trabajadores, asimismo el ausentismo de origen laboral por causa de traumas y lesiones osteomusculares impacta negativamente la productividad de la empresa y aumenta los costos económicos. La empresa privada Inversiones Otelo con operación en el municipio de Anapoima (Cundinamarca) ha desarrollado la evaluación médica pre-ocupacional de sus trabajadores, quienes reportan ausencia de dolencias relacionadas con el factor de riesgo biomecánico, pero el profesional responsable del SG-SST de la empresa, identifica factores de riesgo biomecánico que evalúa cualitativamente en riesgo moderado, por lo tanto, se plantea la necesidad de adoptar una estrategia de prevención y vigilancia ocupacional para trastornos y lesiones osteomusculares, que permita caracterizar los diferentes factores de riesgos asociados al manejo manual de cargas, con posibles impactos negativos sobre la salud; para su prevención se plantea diseñar e implementar un sistema de vigilancia ocupacional para trastornos y lesiones osteomusculares. |
