The purpose of this degree work is to identify both the biomechanical risks, as well as
the consequences derived from this in the worker, causing in several cases, complex
affections in upper limbs such as: carpal tunnel, epicondylitis, rotator cuff, tendinitis due to
repetitive movements. and even by segmented and prolonged postures according to the initial
activity, this being the confection.
The clothing sector, according to the report issued by the Inexmoda Observatory,
mentions that “The size of the textile market grew 5.8% in the first four months of the year,
up to $9.9 billion” (2023), this being sector, the eighth segment with the highest consumption
in the country (Portfolio Magazine, 2023).
Due to this and identifying the market at the local level in the municipality of Funza,
Cundinamarca, the viability between supply and demand is verified in terms of the broad
requirements for the acquisition of security equipment for the industrial sector, since Several
of the industries according to the POT (Territorial Planning Plan) of the city of Bogotá, make
the difficult decision to move their companies to the outskirts of this city in order to
contribute to environmental improvement.
Due to the above, the idea arises of identifying biomechanical risks and assessing
ergonomic risk factors through the evaluation of postural load (Rula) in the workplaces of the
manufacturing satellite since they currently do not have a solid SG-SST that supports both its
workers and its activity.
