This research aims to highlight the importance of the development of emotional
intelligence in early childhood, through the use of artistic languages as a channeling tool in the
expression of emotions during early education, for this purpose the Talented group of the Sol
Naciente Kindergarten was studied, with the objective of identifying what difficulties in the
expression of emotions and artistic skills arise in children from 3 to 4 years of age during the
school day. The methodology used for this study was of qualitative approach where different
techniques and instruments such as observation, workshops and interviews with teachers were
implemented, which allowed collecting information about the situations that trigger the
difficulties of emotional expression.
Revealing that during this stage of development, children still do not manage to identify,
manage and express their emotions in an adequate way, on the other hand it was also possible to
identify the artistic skills that the group had, this allowed the researchers to design an
intervention proposal based on the use of artistic languages as a tool that responded to the needs
identified in the group, fostering in the children the development of emotional intelligence, the
construction and identification of their identity and the appropriate management of their
emotions, through artistic activities designed to enhance their social and emotional processes
during early education.
