In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, companies have had to adapt their ways of hiring,
risk measurement and resource optimization. Investment in human talent has been one of
the areas they have focused on to overcome the challenges presented by this unprecedented
situation. To answer the question what are the economic and operational advantages that
teleworking offers to companies in the industrial sector in Bogota, and how has been its
adoption in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic? The Pearson's Chi-square test and the
analysis of simple correspondences were used for the investigation. Among the findings, it
is highlighted that the world trend is not alien to the economic sectors in Colombia, mainly
the one selected for the development of the research. It was concluded that people have
found a balance in their personal lives, savings in their expenses and, on the part of the
companies, optimizations of resources at the level of investments in human talent. The
results clearly show that trends are changing, especially in terms of investments. It is more
beneficial to have a staff that is focused on achieving objectives rather than on complying
with set schedules and spaces. This encourages the creation of policies that promote an
optimal work environment and can generate greater investments for large companies that
adopt telecommuting as a work model.
