Dance, as an ancestral art, is daily seen as a form of artistic expression based on the
movement of the body, through choreographic sequences in conjunction with technique,
musicality and interpretation to create an aesthetic experience that transmits ideas, emotions
and narratives transcending cultural barriers. Even if, it raises questions within community
social work as in many cases it is used to generate social transformations. This work is an
effort to understand how dance is presented as a group-community element that influences
the relationship of the being with himself and with others, and its appreciation demanded in a
deep understanding and responsible practice in the construction of the active and empowered
citizen.
