Los accidentes de trabajo son un fenómeno creciente de interés social debido al alto costo humano y económico que estos provocan. Se conoce poco sobre la causalidad de estos accidentes, y es importante su reconocimiento para generar estrategias preventivas que reduzcan su aparición y sus consecuencias.
Debido a que los accidentes de origen ocupacional ocupan un lugar importante
dentro de las causas de ausentismo, discapacidades y hasta muertes, el presente trabajo tiene como finalidad analizar los riesgos laborales y las tasas de accidentalidad de las empresas manufactureras, teniendo en cuenta que es uno de los sectores con mayor actividad y movimiento constante.
Durante los últimos años el sector manufacturero ha experimentado un crecimiento significativo, siendo esta la razón por la que ha logrado sobresalir entre las demás industrias colombianas, lo que ha despertado la necesidad de estudiar como los cambios que han experimentado estas empresas en temas de mano de obra, logísticos, operativos y tecnológicos; influyen en el incremento de los índices de accidentalidad y enfermedad laboral dentro de estas organizaciones.
