El Surgimiento del trabajo social en Colombia: Antecedentes y emergencia de la profesión.

Abstract

Reconocer la historia del Trabajo Social desde una perspectiva crítica, implica indagar por la complejidad que trae consigo el surgimiento de una profesión; por esto, comprender la génesis de esta, exige no solo hacer referencia a hechos y personas concretas, contempla también investigar las condiciones políticas y económicas del contexto en el que nace. En este capítulo se mencionan las condiciones que generaron el inicio de la profesión a la luz del desarrollo capitalista en Colombia, las reformar liberales y políticas conservadoras en la educación de la primera mitad del siglo XX y su directa relación con la apertura de las primeras escuelas de servicio social en Bogotá, Bolívar, Antioquia y Valle. A su vez, desde una mirada histórico-crítica, se analizan los hechos reseñados con el fin de superar miradas endogenistas que se mantienen en el momento de justificar los fundamentos del Trabajo Social.

The recognition of the history of Social Work in Colombia from a critical perspective implies researching the complexity brought by the emergence of a profession. Therefore, the understanding of its genesis demands more than referring to the traditional history centered on the chronological order and on specific people, but to contemplate the political, social, and economic conditions of the context in which it is born. This chapter mentions the conditions that generated the beginning of the profession in light of capitalist development in Colombia, women struggles and liberal reforms, as well as conservative policies in education in the first half of the 20th century and its direct relationship with the opening of the first Social work schools in Bogotá, Bolívar, Antioquia, and Valle. This within the framework of the consolidation of the major colleges in the country and the subsequent search for the transition from schools to university space. At the same time, from a historical-critical perspective, the facts outlined are analyzed in order to overcome endogenic views that are maintained at the time of justifying the foundations of Social.
