La presente investigación realiza un abordaje a los enfermeros tanto profesionales cómo técnicos que estuvieron expuestos durante la pandemia y desarrollaron su labor en una institución de segundo nivel de complejidad. El objetivo general es identificar los cambios laborales generados por la pandemia del COVID-19 en el personal de enfermería en los siguientes aspectos: cantidad de empleo, calidad del trabajo y efectos emocionales. Se utilizó un enfoque cuantitativo, con un alcance de tipo transversal descriptivo la muestra fue seleccionada a conveniencia a partir de las personas que aceptaran participar voluntariamente, se aplicó un cuestionario con preguntas de opción múltiple y dicotómicas donde se tuvieron en cuenta cuatro variables: caracterización sociodemográfica, cambios laborales y aspectos físicos, emocionales y familiares. Los principales resultados que se obtuvieron el 80,4% trabaja en una institución pública, el 80,4 de la población participante corresponde al sexo femenino, el 69,6% son técnicos y el 30.4% corresponde a profesionales, el 43.5% laboro durante la pandemia en el servicio de urgencias, el 45,7 manifiesta que los turnos fueron rotativos y el 78,3% refiere que tuvieron que hacer más horas de la jornada laboral asignada por necesidad del servicio donde el 34,8% afirmaron que fueron con una frecuencia de tres veces por semana; el 58,7 refiere que la principal afectación que se tuvo a consecuencia del trabajo fue en la familia, seguida por la salud mental con un 21,7%.
This research addresses both professional and technical nurses who were exposed during the
pandemic and carried out their work in a second-level institution of complexity. The general
objective is to identify the labor changes generated by the COVID-19 pandemic in the nursing staff
in the following aspects: quantity of employment, quality of work and emotional effects. A
quantitative approach was used, with a cross-sectional descriptive scope, the sample was selected
at convenience from people who agreed to participate voluntarily, a questionnaire with multiple
choice and dichotomous questions was applied where four variables were taken into account:
sociodemographic characterization, labor changes and physical, emotional and family aspects. The
main results that were obtained 80.4% work in a public institution, 80.4% of the participating
population corresponds to the female sex, 69.6% are technicians and 30.4% correspond to
professionals, 43.5% work during the pandemic in the emergency service, 45.7% stated that the
shifts were rotating and 78.3% reported that they had to work more hours than the workday
assigned due to the need for the service, where 34.8% stated that they went with a frequency of
three times a week; 58.7% refer that the main affectation that they had as a result of work was in
the family, followed by mental health with 21.7%.
