Los estudiantes desarrollan los aprendizajes necesarios a partir de las diferentes acciones pedagógicas, las cuales son orientadas por docentes y administrativos a partir de un liderazgo efectivo, que permite concluir el proceso académico de los estudiantes de forma exitosa. Así, la responsabilidad del rector y su equipo de trabajo está guiada por los objetivos trazados para alcanzar los estándares requeridos por la entidad gubernamental de cada país. En esta investigación aplicada en Colombia, se analiza el estilo de liderazgo ejercido por la gestión directiva, académica y los docentes de cinco áreas fundamentales, en dos instituciones educativas, una del sector público y otra del privado, para inferir si este incide en el rendimiento académico de los estudiantes.
The students develop the necessary learning from the different pedagogical actions, which
are guided by teachers and administrators from an effective leadership, which allows to conclude
the academic process of the students successfully. Thus, the responsibility of the principal and his
work team is guided by the objectives set to achieve the standards required by the School District
of each country. This research applied in Colombia analyzes the leadership style exercised by the
directive and academic management and the teachers of five main areas, in two educational
institutions, one public and one private, to verify its effects in the students’ academic performance.
Likewise, this investigation was developed using the mixed methodological approach and
the procedures were carried out in four phases using interviews with the principals of the
schools. Also, in the same way a Multifactorial Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ Form 5x short)
adapted, and, the Pruebas saber test results of the last five years of each school. The main
findings of the quantitative and qualitative analyzes with the showed methods presented
similarities given that the two schools tend to adopt transformational leadership as a leadership style that helps them in the different features of their academic and directive management.
