El conocer estilos de liderazgo, permite orientar y evaluar su efectividad, en los directivos
de las instituciones educativas, en sus competencias de gestión del líder, hacia promoción
de la innovación, generación de programas o proyectos, y mejoras al aprendizaje. Por eso,
el objetivo principal de este trabajo, consistió en describir el perfil de competencias de
gestión de liderazgo que debe tener el rector de la Institución Educativa la Unión de
secundaria, para que sea promotor de innovación, generador de proyectos de mejora y
potenciador de estrategias pedagógicas para incorporarlas en el aprendizaje de los
estudiantes. De este modo, se sigue un enfoque cualitativo de diseño descriptivo, apoyado
en instrumentos como, fichas bibliográficas y la entrevista semi-estructurada; aplicado a
una muestra de 11 educadores, (10 docentes y 1 rector). Se realiza una técnica de revisión
bibliográfica o sistematizada, y un análisis cualitativo, con algunos complementos
cuantitativos.
Knowing leadership styles, allows guiding and evaluating its effectiveness, in the directors
of educational institutions, in their leadership management skills, towards promoting
innovation, generating programs or projects, and improving learning. Therefore, the main
objective of this work consisted in describing the profile of leadership management
competencies that the rector of the Secondary Union Educational Institution must have, so
that he can be a promoter of innovation, generator of improvement projects and enhancer of
pedagogical strategies to incorporate them into student learning. In this way, a qualitative
approach of descriptive design is followed, supported by instruments such as bibliographic
records and the semi-structured interview; applied to a sample of 11 educators, (10 teachers
and 1 rector). A bibliographic or systematized review technique is carried out, and a
qualitative analysis is carried out, with some quantitative complements. The results show
that the type of leadership that the rector of the target institution manages is democratic,
carrying out good management; In the Latin American and Caribbean context,
Transformational Leadership stands out, characterized by its idealized influence,
inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation and individualized consideration. It is
concluded and described that the functional profile of leader is based on educational,
human and technical management, for the development of innovation projects and learning
improvements; being the most pertinent leadership style for the rector, Transformational
Leadership.
