In the research the discourse was analyzed from the Child theory (2008) from the semantic, morphosyntactic, semiotic, pragmatic and sociological dimension of the interns of the Luis A. Rengifo Polytechnic of Ibagué with the aim of generating communicative strategies that would allow the development of their communicative competences. The methodology was based on the qualitative approach, descriptive
type and transactional cut; the sampling was intentional and the results show that communicative competences in inmates are affected by the lack of active literacy processes that allow the improvement of their expression.
