The present research work Growing Together: Case study of Sergio with spastic cerebral
palsy, whose objective was to identify the impact that play has on the body, cognitive and
communicative dimension, in the teaching-learning process, which is carried out with a student
who presents a diagnosis of mild spastic cerebral palsy from the Modern Bandura Gymnasium
Foundation, having as its scope to be able to understand that the realities of this population
should approach the school, achieving an integration in conditions of equality from the
pedagogical and legal aspects.
Established as a theoretical framework we have three theoretical references, the first one
will work with Jean Piaget, who speaks from the theory of learning, has a constructivist
approach, it is a certain way of understanding and explaining the ways in which we learn, the
author mentioned also us talks about play as a tool in the fundamental development of children
such as coordination, social interaction and learning. Second reference William John Little, who
tells us about cerebral palsy, motor alterations that he described as spatic rigidity. And finally we
have Salcedo who talks about the pedagogical strategy as an essential component of the
teaching-learning process.
Within this order of ideas in the methodological framework, the following instruments
were worked, the semi-structural interview and field diaries which were quantified to observe the
process of the case study of the student with a diagnosis of mild spastic cerebral palsy and thus
the analysis of the application of the instruments, determined the intervention route through the
pedagogical strategy developed and thus obtain the following categories: mild spastic cerebral
palsy, play, strategy, child development dimensions established by the Ministry of National
Education (MEN )
Therefore, the qualitative approach highlights that the researcher obtained optimal results
from an experience or situation in the environment in which it helped to strengthen the student's
learning and motor development. In order to understand their learning in the educational context,
a pedagogical proposal was applied that positively affects and generates changes to enhance the
integral development of the student with spastic cerebral palsy. Within the conclusions, it should
be taken into account that the work generated optimal results in the student's bodily, cognitive
and communicative development.
