Al realizar una revisión de la economía del país, se encuentra que el sector automotriz y autopartes según Procolombia aporta el 6,2% al PIB industrial del país, además de vincular otras industrias como la metalmecánica, petroquímica y textiles, lo que le permite emplear el 2,5% del personal ocupado dentro de la industria manufacturera. Con estas cifras se puede desvelar que también es un sector económico vulnerable a riesgos, por ello se decidió realizar una investigación de tipo mixto, en el sector comercial de la calle 66 en Engativá para con la parte cualitativa, identificar los factores de riesgo a los que están expuestos los comerciantes de autopartes, por la falta de control en sus inventarios y las consecuencias a las que podría exponerse con estos, para ello, se visitó los comercios de dicho sector y se aplicó una encuesta para identificar cifras de cuántos de ellos manejan algún sistema de control de inventarios.
When conducting a review of the country's economy, it is found that the automotive and auto parts sector, according to Procolombia contributes 6.2% to the country's industrial GDP, in addition to linking other industries such as metalworking, petrochemicals and textiles, which allows it to employ 2.5% of the personnel employed within the manufacturing industry.
