The analysis of internal and external factors allows evaluation of the current situation of
companies, in order to reduce the uncertainty generated by the constant changes in the
environment and create action plans that solve the main problems and, in turn, take advantage of
the potential they possess.
In this sense, with the analysis of internal and external factors that influence the
development of MSMEs in the Girardot trade sector, the different variables that positively or
negatively influence their development and growth will be analyzed. As such, it will be possible
to establish the focus of these organizations and identify their strengths and areas for
improvement. Taking into account that "a rapid and accurate diagnosis will allow an
organization to make decisions on time and make the necessary adjustments to adequately face
the challenges of positioning, maintaining and acquiring competitive advantages in the markets
in which it operates" (Raineri & Martinez, sf, page 5)
Based on this approach, the descriptive research method will be used to establish the level
of competitiveness, technology and efficiency existing in Girardot's commercial MSMEs, using
qualitative data collection tools which will allow establishing the main problems, as well as their
causes and consequences within organizations.
Finally, with this research proposal based on the analysis of factors, the variables that
allow the current positioning of the SMEs in the commercial sector in Girardot will be identified,
which will be reflected in strategic management matrix such as PCI (internal capacity profile)
and POAM (profile of opportunities and threats) to establish the main strengths, weaknesses,
threats and opportunities that are evident in the MSMEs, which will be finally reflected in the
DOFA matrix for the approach of corporate strategies. The foregoing from the recognition of its
current status and possible alternatives for improvement in general aspects in terms of
productivity, human resources, administration and other organizational aspects.
